"Set among the trees at the top of a knoll just off the main road to Mt.
Mansfield, this new luxury property is well worth its high rates....Like all
the inn's guestrooms, our featured a gas fireplace (visible from the bedroom
and the huge Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom), marble bath, comfortable sitting
area, and TV with VCR. Some of the rooms come with wrought iron canopy beds,
some with sleigh beds; color schemes range from cranberry red to yellow....As
you enjoy your meal [breakfast], light classical music and the lovely setting
add to the serene atmosphere. Add it up, and the Stone Hill Inn is simply the
best place to stay in Stowe."

"Stone Hill's owners, Amy and Hap Jordan, advertise their nine-room establishment
as exactly what it is: a luxury bed and breakfast, which is to say that it marries
the modern amenities of a high-end resort to the intimacy of a B&B."
Vermont Magazine, May/June 2002.
"Elegant, peaceful, luxurious, quiet, impressive, relaxing, private, friendly;
all this and more can be said about a fabulous Bed and Breakfast in Vermont's
renown village of Stowe. The Stone Hill Inn is a luxury escape for couples who
expect a superior level of comfort and privacy."

"...every detail speaks to a level of comfort and perfection not ordinarily

“The Stone Hill Inn combines a coveted hilltop setting in the woods,
tranquility, top-drawer construction, designer decor, gourmet breakfasts and
gorgeous spacious private bathrooms....It’s an intimate place with only
nine guest rooms....Picture Perfect.”
Rochelle Lash, Montreal Gazette, March 1999.
"Stone Hill Inn is not for those looking for a homey getaway. As my girlfriend
said after we left, 'If you want homey, you can stay home.' If you want luxury,
drive to Vermont, through the village of Stowe, make a left onto Mountain Road,
and wind your way around for a few miles until you see Amy and Hap Jordan's
inn perched among the trees on top of a knoll. First thing we thought when we
walked in: We are not worthy. The operating premise behind this inn seems to
be: Think of everything possible to pamper the guest....The food at the Stone
Hill Inn is the best we have had at an inn, and the torta [that evening's hors
d'oeuvre] was sort of a food tease for what was to come the next morning. Hap,
a self-taught chef, prepared for me a Southwestern breakfast casserole....The
creation was so incredible that when Megan asked for a bite, I considered saying
no. Seconds later, I relented. Getting into the cooperative spirit, Megan shared
her creme brulee French toast with fresh berries....The dining room juts out
from the rest of the building, into the woods and garden, and features two long
rows of tables facing a wall of windows. Early in the morning, the dining room
exploded with light and the promise of the day. In the warmer months, Amy and
Hap crack the windows and let a breeze sweep in. Guests can eat breakfast and
watch the hummingbirds do the same. Amy told us that when they designed the
inn, their architect disliked their idea for the dining room, saying it didn't
fit right. Thankfully for their guests, the Jordans envisioned its extraordinary
outcome and stuck with their plan....What we liked best: The fireplace and the
food. What we liked least: Leaving." - Michael Rosenwald, The Boston Globe,
