Walk through a re-created village with homes and other buildings including a bark log house, tavern and general store. Open April through November. Offering many special events and children's activities. Located one mile from the center of Cooperstown.

Walt

The 50 room mansion, north of the village of Cooperstown is noted as one of the "most remarkable buildings in America." Tours and exhibits provide a glimpse into the history of this neo-classical estate dating from 1817. A Visitor Center, spacious grounds and the adjacent state park on Otsego Lake provide fine entertainment for an afternoon visit.

EAST HAMPTON
(New York City/Long Island)
Wainscott
The first hamlet you enter heading east, is strong in its historical and agricultural landscape. The many farmhouses, which dot the terrain, date back to the 1700's.
The Village of East Hampton: "America's Most Beautiful Village," is fairly unscathed by modern clutter; its trees, greens, windmills, and the famous Town Pond are preserved as they were when this historic village was first settled.
Springs
Slightly north of the village is the tiny hamlet of Springs, rural in its landscape and surrounded by the crystalline waters of Accabonac Harbor, Gardiner's Bay and Three Mile Harbor
Amagansett
Maintaining a great deal of historical character with buildings dated back to the 1600's, combines tradition with modern tourism. It is situated between the sprawling dunes of the Atlantic Ocean on the south and uninterrupted farmland on the north.
Napeague
Proceeding east, there are continuous rolling dunes on both the north and south sides of Napeague Strip which is comprised mostly of park land, with beautiful beaches on both the north and the south and Napeague Harbor — a favorite with the locals for both sail fishing and shell fishing.
Montauk
The End!!! — the eastern point of Long Island. Montauk, one of the great Salt Water Fishing capitols of the world, is bordered by the Block Island Sound on the north and east, and the mighty Atlantic on the south. At the apex is the famous Montauk Lighthouse, built in 1796, to guide traveling ships and guard them against running ashore.

Hampton Classic Horse Show
The crowning event of the season is the Hampton Classic Horse Show. Held the last week of August in Bridgehampton, it brings together world class and novice equestrian talent from around the country for a week of competition culminating in the Grand Prix on the last day. Even if you're not a rider, there is plenty of shopping at the kiosks and a Saturday kid's day with a petting zoo, clowns and pony rides.
Wine Country
Autumn is the time of year to visit the Long Island Wineries. A day trip from the city or part of a weekend getaway, the North Fork of Long Island is now home to over 20 small winemakers with three others located on the South Fork. Starting out from East Hampton, take the ferry from North Haven, drive across Shelter Island, which in itself is a beautiful ride, and another ferry to the North Fork. Then drive West through the villages of the North Fork, stopping along the way to enjoy tours and tastings at the various wineries. With its rural agrarian vistas, the North Fork of Long Island has reinvented itself from producing primarily the famed Long Island potatoes and ducks to a viable industry of winemakers who are beginning to produce world class wines.
Music Festivals/Concerts
Another local holiday tradition is the Choral Society of the Hamptons annual holiday concert, held on a Sunday afternoon and evening in December at the Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church. In addition to a beautiful rendering of familiar carols, the program will include an ambitious longer piece, often unusual, but always interesting. Throughout the villages of the East End there are an abundance of tree lighting ceremonies, concerts and house tours making this season especially festive.
